Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, also known as, Lady Gaga has exploded onto the pop culture scene. However, after her second semester sophomore year, she decided it was time to focus more on her career and she dropped out of NYU. During her time after NYU, Gaga immersed herself in the underground club scene and honed her skills as a performer, songwriter, and singer. Originally known in the underground club scene, as DJ Lady Gaga, she chose her name in honor of Queen’s song “Radio Ga Ga.” In 2008, she burst on the scene with “Just Dance” and while many thought she was just another cookie-cutter pop star, she clearly is here to stay. With her concert tour “The Monster Ball” Gaga puts on quite the show. Many people who have witnessed the show say it is unlike anything they have ever seen. With multiple costume changes, set changes, and choreographed numbers Lady Gaga always delivers. Her innovative persona and stress on advocacy and human rights issues make her a truly revolutionary artist. She has had an effect on the music in the industry in a way that has changed the game forever.
