It seems as if there is no stopping pop icon Alecia Moore, better known for her stylized stage name P!nk, on her The Truth About Love concert tour. This is her sixth concert tour which is in support of her latest studio album of the same name which was released in the latter quarter of 2012. The album, which holds her latest singles “Blow Me One Last Kiss,” “Try” and “Just Give Me a Reason,” garnered an outstanding commercial and critical reception. Today, the American singer-songwriter is set to appear in a total of 130 shows all over North America, Europe and Australia.
The tour met a slight drawback recently when Pink was forced to cancel the set concert date at Birmingham after suffering from a respiratory infection. Now, she needs to take a short break from her tour due to her illness.
She is quick to let her fans know of the situation. She tweets, “With deepest regrets I had to cancel my first show of the tour tonight in Birmingham. I have an ear and respiratory infection.”
The cancellation of the said concert date was abrupt and Pink was fully aware of the disappointment that it will give to the fans who were hoping to see the pop icon perform live at the LG Arena in Birmingham‘s National Exhibition Centre. So, added on her post on the micro-blogging website was her emphasis on how difficult it was to make the decision and how the cancellation seemed to be the best choice for her situation. “I am not a person that takes cancelations lightly- and I apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced by my illness (sic).”
Fortunately, her fans reacted positively, sending Pink well-wishes and continued support. She then responded with a brief message of thanks and love for her loyal fans tweeting, “Thanks to all my genuine people out there sending love.”
This is not the first time that Pink has had mishap during a concert tour. Back in 2010, she fell off stage while attempting an aerial stunt during her final song for her concert in Numberg, Germany. In the released footage of the scene, two back-up dancers were trying to attach the harness on her, which was supposed to pull her across the audience. Realizing that there was a problem with the harness, the pop artist signaled the operators that she was not ready. They probably mistook it as a go signal as the mechanism sends her off the stage. She was immediately rushed top the nearest hospital and fortunately, she did not sustain any serious injuries.
Pink is known for her edgy yet hearty take on pop music. She started out as a part of the girl group Choice. She then debuted as a solo artist in 2000 with her first album “Can’t Take Me Home”. With hits such as “Stupid Girls”, “Just like a Pill” and “Don’t Let Me get Me,” she has secured her place in the music industry and in the hearts of her fans worldwide.
