Nothing Rose-y About Chicago Bulls

Chicago Bulls might still be one of the teams to beat but gone are the days when people would literally stop what they are doing in order to watch them play. That change when Derrick Rose came to play for the team. With the addition of Derrick Rose during the 2008 NBA Draft, Chicago Bulls was once again in the forefront of basketball games with Rose delivering the Bulls to the NBA Playoffs year after year. If you would take a look at it from a different angle, it seems that, after Michael Jordan, it was Rose who was making it possible for the team to make a claim for the championship.

Who Is Derrick Rose?

Chicago BullsBorn Derrick Martell Rose, Rose has a string of awards to his name including NBA Most Valuable Player, awarder to him in 2011; NBA Rookie of the Year, which he received in 2009; NBA All-Star, which he won consecutively from 2010 to 2012, and the NBA All-Weekend Skills Champion which he won in 2009. Because of his stellar performance in Chicago Bulls, many people are looking at the Chicago Bulls as a team that is entirely dependent on Rose for its wins. That being the case, it is no wonder that more and more avid Chicago Bulls fan are worried about the state of the team seeing that Rose is currently undergoing rehabilitation for his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligamen) injury. It is this injury that many Bulls fan blame for their “almost” victory last NBA championship games. Rose was said to have torn his ACL during Game 1 of their first round of playoff series which happened to be against the Philadelphia 76ers. Ever since he had his injury operated on, Rose has been keeping a low profile which has fueled even more the rumors that he might not be able to play this season.

So what now becomes of Chicago Bulls if Derrick Rose would not be able to play this season?

Bulls fan need not fear the worst yet as Derrick Rose seems to be on the road to recovery. The rehabilitation that he has been undergoing has enabled him to actually have some light moments in the court just last month. Although nor necessarily shooting and zooming past other players, it is still nice to know that Rose can still find his way into the court.

Doctors have mentioned that Rose’s recovery is going quite well and is actually ahead of schedule. This actually can go both ways – either he really has recovered and would be able to play a nice game that would once again place the Chicago Bulls on the running for the Championship trophy; or, he might actually just be pushing himself to recover since his team mates depend on him. In this case, going back to the court too early might actually do more harm than good. This might find the Chicago Bulls, once again, a few steps short of securing the Championship.
