On the other hand, former Atlanta Hawks superstar Josh Smith agreed to a $54 million deal with the Pistons. Smith is going to Detroit, to try and snatch a championship. The Boston Celtics however is pumping up their squad with a brand new coach in the form of Brad Stevens. Stevens is a coach of Butler a college basketball team who is competing in NCAA. Celtics President Danny Ainge stated that Stevens will surely be a good fit with the skills as a coach. The whole Celtic nation looks forward to another NBA Finals appearance, to add another chapter to their undying legacy.
Heading over to the West, the Los Angeles Lakers is on the verge of losing their precious big man Dwight Howard. The Los Angeles Lakers underperformed on the recently concluded NBA Playoffs, as they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs. Dwight Howard is rumored to be signing a contract with the Houston Rockets. Prior to Howard heading over to Houston former NBA Superstar Shaquille O’Neal said that LA spotlight is too bright for the young center. Lakers Superstar Kobe Bryant also expressed himself by “unfollowing” Howard on Twitter. On a brighter side of the West, Golden State Warriors acquired swingman Andre Iguodala to help give them a shot on a NBA title this coming season. The coveted free agent agreed to a four-year, $48 million deal with the Warriors. With a bunch of young talents and a versatile veteran on their arsenal, the Golden State Warriors is surely a force not to be reckoned with.
A bunch of interesting happenings inside and outside the league gives both fans and players a great thrill for the upcoming season. Players recovering from injuries and timely trades will surely be a big factor this coming season, but regardless where a player ends up playing one thing is for sure, the journey for an NBA title is going to be an uphill battle once again.
